The presence of God carries the power of God – Psalm
68 verse 1.
The Presence of God is in the Word of
God. That is why the Word of God does not return to Him void. The manifest
presence of God is in the Word of God. To receive His manifest presence in our
midst, we must be truly prepared for Him, consecrated and sanctified. When we
are dealing, interacting with the Word of God, we are dealing, interacting with
the Person, one of the Personalities of the Godhead who does not lie (1st
Samuel Chapter 15 verse 29, Numbers Chapter 23 verse 19); who does not fail
(Isaiah Chapter 55 verses 8 to 13) and because He does not change, He makes good
every wonderful promise He makes to us.
The Presence of God is not in carefully chosen songs
or in certain practiced ways of singing, drumming, dancing, preaching or
walking. The Presence of God is in a person’s total yielded-ness to God; to
allow God through His Holy Spirit and His word to always have His way in your
life irrespective of what you think appears better. Give God the space and He
will live in you and your heart at all times. The presence of God is in His
word because God is the word made flesh. See John Chapter 1 verses 1 to 5. The
ultimate goal of Bible study is fellowship with God, to know God – grow in the
knowledge and understanding of God. It is not a legalistic ritual that compels
or obliges God to provide for us, protect us or expand us. Rather, it is a
daily meeting of reaffirming our love and commitment to God.
Size is great but what is greatest is the Presence of
God, David’s size was really nothing compared to Goliath. Yet because God was
with him, he brought Goliath down and ended the oppression of size. Only true
worshippers who worship God in truth and in spirit carry His divine presence at
all times. It is therefore impossible to host the Presence of God except you
are a worshipper. Please see Isaiah Chapter 6 verse 1. Also, you cannot access
the presence of God without going through the cross.
The Presence of God in your life should be
most important to you than anything else. Why? The Presence of God in your life is God’s sun and shield to you,
offering you protection, healing, deliverance, provision, orders your steps,
utterances, actions, thoughts, imaginations, in essence gives divine direction,
favor, leadership, contacts, abundance, children, help, etc. The Presence of
God in you is what helps you to order your conversation aright, order your
steps into the right places, links you up with the right people, gives you the
solutions that you seek as well as make you a solution provider to the world. The
Presence of God guarantees joy. The Presence of God, Please see 2nd
Chronicles Chapters 5, 6 and 7. God’s Presence always works/manifests signs and
wonders. Moses refused to move until God assured him of His Presence.
A person bereft of the presence of God
hardly hears from God directly as s/he is often dependent on third parties to
hear from God. David said, “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God.
The house of God is where God lives and not necessarily a beautiful cathedral
bereft of the presence of God but full of the rules and traditions of men.
Carriers of His Divine Presence are often
used by God to bring healing to peoples and nations. Choose to be a carrier of
His Divine Presence and always bring the refreshing presence and difference God
wants to make in the lives of His people into every activity you coordinate. This
perhaps explains why God carefully chooses and trains people who carry His
Presence.
Distractive time wasting people,
relationships, activities, events are often bereft of the Presence of God which
explains why they drain virtue from you rather than add value to your life. It is a rare
privilege to be honored with the Presence of God in your life. The most you can
do is celebrate that honor and privilege by respecting the Presence of God in
your life, by attending to God, by obeying the instructions He gives you,
thanking Him for honoring you, a mere mortal with His great awesome Presence;
by praising and worshipping Him.
Finally, the Presence of God is far too
precious, too holy too awesome to be treated slightly, to be toyed with.
Nothing in life is worth trading the Presence of God for. In case you have
trivialized the Presence of God in the past, you need to repent and you can do
so by praying this short prayer. Father, please, forgive me for treating your
Presence in my life without respect. Please, help me to always honor your
Presence in my life. Fill me, every member of my family, my businesses, your
Church and the nations with Your Presence, Lord in Jesus mighty name.
