The Power of His Name

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. Lord, give victory to the king!  Answer us when we call! Psalm 20 verses 1 to 7.

The power of the name of Jesus Christ is great, in point of fact so great that the religious leaders of the day forbade the Apostles from ‘speaking to anyone or teaching anyone in the name of Jesus Christ’. Please see Acts Chapter 4 verse 1 to 31, 5 verses 27 to 42.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower where the righteous can actually run into and be safe. This implies that the name of the Lord is a strong and safe fortress, a refuge and a hiding place from trouble and all the evil darts of the enemy. Please see Proverbs Chapter 18 verse 10 and Psalm 31 verses 1 to 3.

The power of the name of Jesus Christ is great because God gave Him the name which is above every other name so that at the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee bows; whether they are knees in heaven, on earth and those under the earth.

Secondly, every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord at the mention of the name of Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father.

The name of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit bring healing, deliverance and miracles. Please see Acts Chapter 3 verses 6, 16; Mark Chapter 16 verses 16 to 20. David came up against Goliath in the name of the Lord and loud mouthed Goliath was destroyed alongside the fear he spouted which immobilized the army of God. Please see 1st Samuel Chapter 17 verses 32 to 54.
The name of the Lord brings salvation. Please see Acts Chapter 4 verse 12, Luke Chapter 24 verses 46 to 47.

Enjoy God’s wall of Fire

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha
For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. Zechariah Chapter 2 verse 5

Violence, anarchy, bloodletting, warfare, armed robbery, kidnapping, piracy are not new.  They have always been part of man from the beginning of creation. Cain killed his brother Abel because he was jealous of Abel’s success. Thereafter, bloodletting in diverse forms has been insisting on becoming the norm of life.

God the Creator and owner of the universe offers to be a wall of fire around you, your loved ones, your home, building, compound and estate. It is the greatest privilege and honor in life because God takes over all your battles so that you can rest and give Him the glory. He fights your battles and barricades the enemy from accessing you or anything that belongs to you.

Everything created by God can become either a weapon of destruction or safety and security in the hands of God depending on what divide a person is in. Fire destroys, consumes people that God is angry with. That same fire also becomes a wall of divine defence, security and peace to the people of God when God chooses to be a wall of fire around His people.

God’s wall of fire is an impenetrable fortress because God’s wall of fire is God Himself and nothing, no one no matter how powerful, how numerous can break through God. Every power bows to God. Besides, God does not move alone – the innumerable company of angels, heavenly hosts and chariots of fire that accompany God will mop up any force contending with the person God is protecting. Therefore, do not fear. When God comes down as a wall of fire around you, then nothing can come against you because God is watching over you with His love and compassion.

Healing the Nations Through Forgiveness 1

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

To err is human while to forgive is divine. The healing of the nations is usually preceded by the acknowledgment of sin, repentance and forgiveness after which healing and restoration begins. 2nd Chronicles Chapter 7 verse 14.

The Bible is replete with teachings, instructions and commandments to forgive people who hurt one another. They include Ephesians Chapter 4 verse 32, Matthew Chapter 18 verses 21 to 35, Colossians Chapter 3 verses 12 to 23, and Luke Chapter 17 verses 3 to 4.

Jesus Christ and Peter
Peter denied Jesus Christ three times yet Jesus did not renege on His promise to Peter. Please see Matthew Chapter 16 verses 15 to 19, John Chapter 21 verses 15 to 22, Acts Chapter 2 verses 14, 4 verse 8. Jesus Christ knew that Peter would deny Him yet He prayed for Peter ahead of the temptation and denial (Luke Chapter 22 verses 31 to 34, 54 to 62). The devil wanted to make nonsense of Peter’s faith but God intervened through intercession for Peter. He also forgave Peter and never mentioned the incident after the resurrection. Rather, He commissioned Peter to take care of the early Church.

Significantly, Peter led the early Church. It is also significant to note that Peter repented – he wept bitterly after the rooster crowed.

Esau and Jacob
These are twin brothers that should have been extremely close to one another yet at different points, wrong relational attitudes and actions caused a rift of hatred that made Esau want to kill his twin brother. Fortunately, Jacob fled early enough from Esau’s anger, hatred and sword. Their relationship at that point in time had degenerated to that of enemies – Esau was angry that Jacob cunningly stole his birth right and proceeded from there to steal the blessings their father Isaac wanted to give to Esau.

The relationship between Isaac and Rebekah coupled with the way they related to the children contributed to the degeneration that took place in their relationship. Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game while Rebekah loved Jacob. That was enough to create discord and schism among the brothers. Please see Genesis Chapters 25 verses 27 to 34 and 27 verses 1 to 45. For many years, the brothers were separated from each other. Jacob had married wives, had children just as Esau had done long before Jacob thought of getting married. However, the situation in Laban’s home and country was no longer conducive for Jacob and his family. He decided to return home. But he had to take care of the relationship between him and his twin brother Esau. He sent emissaries to Esau and became afraid when they returned and told him that Esau was coming out with four hundred men to meet him. At that point in time, Jacob asked God for intervention. Please see Genesis Chapter 32 verses 1 to 13. God honored the prayer of Jacob and by the time the brothers met, Jacob was shocked as his brother Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, fell on his neck and kissed him. For the first time in many years, they were brothers again and they wept, tears of joy at the reunion and the fact that God spared their lives and kept Esau from killing Jacob in the moment of uncontrolled anger – Genesis Chapter 33 verses 1 to 20.

God healed and restored their relationship. Esau accepted gifts from Jacob and even offered security for Jacob and the children.

The Place of Divine Guidance in the Healing of the Nations

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

It is the will of God to guide His people and the nations of the world. In point of fact, God delights in guiding His people and the nations of the world in every area of life (Psalms 78 verses 52 to 55, 107 verses 4 to 7, 23 to 30, 73 verse 24, 32 verse 8, 37 verse 23, Isaiah Chapters 42 verse 16, 45 verses 1 to 3, 13, 48 verse 17 and 23 verses 23 to 29, Exodus Chapter 15 verses 13 to 14.

The reason God guides His people and the nations is to provide divine direction for His people so that they arrive at His desired destination that is safe, prosperous and comfortable for them (Psalm 23, Genesis Chapter 26 and Isaiah Chapter 58 verse 11). Destination is not only physical but spiritual, financial, material, intellectual, mental, marital, parental and in as many dimensions that He chooses to. God knows the end from the beginning created you and the nations for purposes that only He can help you achieve through His divine guidance.

God’s divine guidance for divine direction always brings about prosperity, increase, wealth, security, greatness, salvation, deliverance, expansion, comfort, joy, fulfillment, health in spite of what the circumstances are. Any individual, family, community, nation that seeks divine guidance and direction from God will definitely experience and enjoy divine direction, counsel, instruction in righteousness that will ultimately lead to divine provision, success in business, career, academics, scientific breakthroughs, artistic excellence and what have you.

Elijah was well fed during the period of drought from the brook Kidron to the home of the widow of Zarephath. Isaac prospered at a time when other farmers were complaining of famine and poor harvests because he followed divine direction from God (Genesis Chapter 26, Isaiah Chapter 58 verse 11 and Psalm 23). David was amply supplied, sustainable food security as well as military, political, financial security because he allowed God to shepherd him to green pastures.

David understood this clearly and always sought guidance and divine direction from God (1st Samuel Chapter 30 verses 1 to 8, 1st Chronicles Chapter 14 verses 8 to 17, 15 verses 13, 2nd Samuel Chapter 5 verses 17 to 25).

King Solomon followed in his father’s steps and sought guidance from God on how to lead the nation of Israel after he became King. God was so pleased with the decision of Solomon that He added other things that Solomon did not request for (1st Kings Chapter 3 verses 5 to 15). Other Kings who sought divine guidance for divine direction and help from God include Jehoshaphat (2nd Chronicles Chapters 17 verses 3 to 19, 18 verses 1 to 18, 20 verses 1 to 32); Uzziah (2nd Chronicles Chapter 26 verses 1 to 5) and Hezekiah (2nd Chronicles Chapter 32 verse 22).
