Healing the Nations Through Prophesying 1

 Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise [is] health. Proverbs Chapter 12 verse 18.

The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to [him that is] weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. Isaiah Chapter 50 verse 4.

The city of Samaria experienced and suffered famine that resulted in skyrocketing inflation and cannibalism that was threatening to become the norm in Samaria. The famine was a consequence of the long standing siege by the army of Syria against Samaria.  Bewildered, afraid, the King threatened to kill the prophet Elisha. But Elisha was unperturbed. He prophesied a drastic reduction in the prices of food stuff by the following day irrespective of the fact that the siege was still on, the army of Syria appeared immovable and the people of Samaria had no military prowess against them. Was Elisha playing a crude joke on the nation? Was he insensitive to the plight of the people?

But God to whom everyone and everything submits knew what to do, how to do it and when to do it. He knew exactly how to intimidate the army of Syria into speedy flight from the borders of Samaria and that was exactly what God did to bring about the fulfillment of His word spoken by His prophet Elisha. Elisha’s task was to speak the words of God while God’s responsibility was to bring about the fulfillment. And how did God do it?

Significantly, God did not have to open the windows of heaven to pour out the abundant food that was required to end the famine and to bring down the inflation. It was the Syrian army who laid the long siege that brought about the famine, inflation and cannibalism that they hoped would lead to the surrender of Samaria to them that brought the abundant food required o end the famine, bring down the inflation and end cannibalism. The abundance they had stored up in food supplies, money and other material resources to lay a siege that would last as long as it took the people of Samaria to surrender was what they left in a hurry as they fled from the supposedly fast approaching great army hired against them.

Beloved, God used the enemy to supply the abundance. In like manner, I dare to prophesy by the Spirit of God that God Who loves you and does not give up on His own,  does not fail His own will cause everyone and anyone who laid sieges against you spiritually, physically, financially, materially, maritally and in whatever way to hear the noise of God’s great army for you against them and they will flee in a hurry abandoning every resource they had mobilized to mount a long and unending siege against you until you surrender to them to you for you to plunder and loot from them to the abundance they prevented you from experiencing and enjoying in Jesus mighty name. Shalom.
