Books are not written in a day though it is possible
to have a draft of a book in a day depending on the size or scope of the book.
A book can start as a letter which graduates into a series of letters which
eventually culminate in a book or books which make up a book of books, for
instance the letters of Apostle Paul to some of the Churches he planted which
culminated in the Pauline epistles in the New Testament in the Bible.
King Solomon for instance commenced his writing
career by speaking – the Bible records that he spoke three thousand proverbs
while his songs were one thousand and five. Everything he spoke was documented,
some by himself, and others by court scribes and they were handed down to
succeeding generations as the books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Songs of
Songs. Please read 1st Kings Chapter 4 verses 31 to 34, Ecclesiastes
Chapter 12 verses 9 to 10. The Bible records that he chose his words carefully
while speaking and writing. He chose words that would point people in the right
direction in life. The fact that some of the writings of King Solomon were done
by court scribes implies that the author of
a book may not necessarily be the writer of the book as the writer may
be a conduit or channel for documenting the person’s ideas, thought processes,
speeches, prophecies, messages etc. Baruch also wrote for the prophet Jeremiah.
Prophet Jeremiah was in confinement at some point in
time yet the prophecy God spoke through Jeremiah got to the people of God. How,
you may ask? Jeremiah’s scribe, Baruch wrote down the prophecy as instructed by
Jeremiah, then took the scroll to the Lord’s house on the day of fasting - a very strategic day because that was when
other Judeans residing in other cities would come to the temple. The
implication is that everyone would have the opportunity of hearing the
prophecy, given the opportunity to be convicted of sin and repent so that God
Who is always rich in mercy and always forgives would forgive them. Significantly,
other people who heard the prophecy after Baruch read it ran with the prophecy.
They took the scroll to the palace, informed the King about the prophecy and
the King insisted on the prophecy being read from the scroll to him, the
princes and other members of the King’s court. Unfortunately, Jehoiakim and his
court were unrepentant as the King cut the scroll and cast it into the fire
despite pleas from some people. Additionally, the King ordered that Baruch and
Jeremiah should be brought before him. But God hid them from the King and
instructed Jeremiah to take another scroll and repeat the writing of the
prophecy.
Beloved, you may lose important writing through
theft, fires, computers theft or crash of hard disk, the authority clamping
down on you and destroying your works; but the truth is that the enemy cannot
steal what God put in your mental processes as God would always help you
recapture everything. Moses destroyed the tablets containing God’s laws to
Israel because he was angry. Those tablets were restored a new set was created.
Please read Jeremiah Chapter 36 and Exodus Chapters for details and Holy Spirit
inspired inspiration.
