The Prayer of Release

The prayer of release is usually more of warfare, warfare in the sense that you are saying NO to the enemy who is withholding your God given blessings and resources from you. Quite  significant is the fact that you are not in direct conflict with the enemy but that through fervent intercession, plea for mercy, acknowledgment of sins and cries for forgiveness of sins and cleansing so that the will of God is done in your life, the establishment and manifestation of His will in all goodness for your life, you tarry, spend quality time in God’s Presence for the release of  God’s divine blessings.

Circumstances contrary to the word of God, the plans and purposes of God, the will of God can also precipitate the prayer of release as recorded in Acts Chapter 12 where constant prayer was offered to God for the release of Peter from death row. Peter was already condemned to death by Herod and would be killed at any point in time. But the Church did not give up praying because they trusted God to intervene and deliver Peter. God responded to their faith and set Peter free the night before he was to be killed by Herod. As evidenced by the constant prayer made by the Church for Peter, it is clear that the prayer of release is not always a one off activity until the desired result is gotten as in the case of Elijah’s prayer for rain. It is constant prayer; pray without ceasing as stated in the Bible in 1^st Thessalonians Chapter 5 verse 17. It is akin to the prayer God requested of the intercessors He placed in Jerusalem.

The prayer of release is also the divine assignment for the person who pronounces a prophecy as well as the person who receives the prophecy. The prayer of release is what happens between the prophecy and the manifestation of the prophecy. It is diligent work.

The prayer of release is usually preceded by a word from God, a prophecy, a promise, a desire for the manifestation of the word of God in the life of a person, family, Church, community or nation. The word of God had come forth that there would be rain after a period of drought and  because Elijah knew that God Who does not lie, Who does not make empty promises had spoken, Elijah called down the rain in fervent, unceasing prayers to God after he had repaired the altar of God in Israel. Elijah prayed until there was a cloud in the skies. He did not stop praying until there was a manifestation. But for the mercy and grace of God, he would have been drenched in the rain. Be Sensitive to the Holy Spirit to Intercede

He is the Spirit of grace and supplication (Zechariah Chapter 12 verse 10, Luke Chapter 2 verse 40, and Romans Chapter 8 verses 26 to 28).

All the intercessors mentioned in the Bible had the Holy Spirit without measure. That is why they prayed the purposes of God and His perfect will. Jesus, the perfection of intercession and the perfect intercessor was and is full of the Holy Spirit. Please see Isaiah Chapter 11 verse 2, Matthew Chapters 1 verse 20; 3 verse 16, 4 verse 1, Luke Chapters 1 verse 35; 4 verses 18 to 19, Romans Chapter 8 verse 34, Hebrews Chapter 7 verse 25.

The Apostle Paul, a great man of prayer, writing by the Holy Spirit instructed believers to pray without ceasing. Please see 1^st Thessalonians Chapter 5 verse 17, Ephesians Chapter 6 verse 18; thereby reiterating what Jesus taught in Luke Chapter 18 verse 1. Beloved, PRAY! PRAY!! PRAY!!!; NOT BY MIGHT BUT BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD.

Anna the prophetess spent her days and nights in prayers and fasting. Significantly, the Bible does not record that Anna was praying for her children or properties. She was widowed at a young age yet she spent her days and nights interceding for the kingdom of God; the plans and purposes of God; the perfect will of God to be established. Prophetess Anna was able to do this because she was filled with the Spirit of grace and supplication and she also respected and honored the Spirit of grace and supplication. So also was Simeon who recognized Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit. Please see Luke Chapter 2 verses 25 to 32.

The Responsibility for Leadership

Leaders are motivated by service, not power. Leaders add value to others by serving them, not by lording it over them. John Maxwell.

True leadership comes by genuine unadulterated service to God and humanity. At various levels, everyone created by God is a leader endowed with divine gifts for leadership albeit service to God and humanity.

To lead effectively, you have to identify your divine gifts for service so that you will provide the right service and leadership. Leaders who have no gifts or people who have not identified their gifts for service are not leaders but rulers who impose themselves on humanity and have nothing to offer the people. They are usually the ones who cannot provide any sense of direction. Rather, they impose hard to obey rules culminating in fear in the land in the bid to coax the people into forced submission.

Jehovah the Man of War Heals Nations

Jehovah the Man of war fights for and heals nations that obey and honor Him. One of the ways God demonstrates His power is by taking over the battles of His children and fighting the enemy in His own way and power in order to give victory to His children. That is why the Bible refers to Him as Jehovah the Man of war. The Bible is replete with accounts of how God took over battles from His children and demonstrated His awesome power to the enemies of His people. Please see Exodus Chapters 14 to 15 for what happened to Pharaoh and his choice chariots at the crossing of the red sea. Pharaoh, the finest crop of his army alongside their chariots were drowned in the red sea by God. In verses 14 to 28 of Exodus Chapter 14, the Egyptians acknowledged that God was fighting for the Israelites against the Egyptians. The Bible also records in those verses that God took off the wheels of that chariots so that the soldiers drove the chariots with difficulty. And because they drove with difficulty, they lacked speed and could not flee before the waters of the sea returned to their full depth It is significant to note that every time God fights for His people, it is total elimination of the enemy, his power base and everything the enemy boasts about.  

Another way God fights for His children is to forgive their sins so that the enemy has no legal ground over the children of God. Please see 1^st John Chapter 1 verses 7 to 10. God also fights for His children by chastening them. Please see Hebrews Chapter 12 verses 5 to 13 and Proverbs Chapter 3 verses 11 to 12.

Yet another way is by removing the scales of ignorance and satanic blindness. Please see 2^nd Corinthians Chapters 3 verses 14 to 17, 4 verses 3 to 4, and Acts Chapters 13 verses 6 to 12 and 8 verses 29 to 39.

God also fights for His children by cancelling and nullifying every accusation of the devil and his cohorts against the children of God with the blood of Jesus Christ and His word. Please see Zechariah Chapter 3 verses 1 to 10 where He rebuked the devil for trying to hinder Joshua the then high Priest of Israel. Please see also Revelation Chapter 12 verses 10 to 11, Jude 9, John Chapter 8 verses 3 to 11, Isaiah Chapters 54 verses 14 to 17, 8 verses 9 to 10.

Sacrifice the Palace to Heal Nations 2

Pharaoh recognized Moses’ power and influence with God. On a number of occasions, Pharaoh pleaded with Moses to intercede for him and his people. Moses did and the plagues were stayed. Please see Exodus Chapters 8 verses 1 to 13, 20 to 31; 9 verses 20 to 33; 10 verses 12 to 19. Even the Israelites recognized Moses’ power and influence with God. Severally, they asked Moses to speak with God on their behalf. Please see Numbers Chapter 21 verses 4 to 9.

But most significantly was when they said Moses should always go before God to them after an encounter with God that intimidated them. Please see Exodus Chapters 19 verses 1 to 25, and 20 verses 1 to 26.  Moses indeed had great power and influence with God. Severally he interceded for the Israelites and God listened. But for the fervent intercession of Moses for Israel, who knows, the nation of Israel would have become extinct in the wilderness as they journeyed to Canaan. Please see Exodus Chapter 32 verses 1 to 14, 30 to 35, Numbers Chapter 11 verses 1 to 3, 14 verses 5 to 20, 20 verses 1 to 7, Deuteronomy Chapter 9, 10 verse 10.

Moses had open heavens with God and always experienced open heavens. The gates and windows of heaven, I mean both access to the throne room of God as well as  access to heavenly resources were all his for the asking. God spoke with Moses as a friend; gave explanations for what He had to do and even what He would not do. Please see Exodus Chapters 32 verses 30 to 35; 33 verses 11 to 23. God revealed Himself to Moses. Please see Exodus Chapter 34 verses 5 to 10.

The grace and glory of God upon Moses was great. Moses’ face so shone with the glory of God after spending quality time with God that the people of Israel could not look him straight in the face. Moses had to wear a veil. Please see Exodus Chapter 34 verses 28 to 35, 2^nd Corinthians Chapter 3 verse 13. The glory of God comes with spending quality time in the presence of God through word study, fasting, praise/worship, adoration, evangelism, intercession and whatever it is God wants you to do. The glory of God in the life of anyone is precious. This is because the glory of God is not only priceless; it is highly attractive and draws men as well as other resources to a carrier of the glory of God. Please see Isaiah Chapter 60 verses 1 to 22, Haggai Chapter 2 verses 1 to 9 and Isaiah Chapter 62 verses 1 to 4.

Sacrifice the Palace to Heal Nations 1

The palace is a place of comfort, luxury, power, influence, royalty, dignity and wealth. A number of comforts, power and influence usually accrue to those who dwell in palaces especially members of the royalty. This perhaps explains the quest for ascension to royalty especially in communities where ascension to the throne is not hereditary. And for those who are already royals, giving up the throne is usually a very difficult choice to make especially when a person is not certain of what the future holds.

The Lord Jesus Christ left His heavenly throne and comforts to save humanity. In like manner, the call of God may make a person sacrifice what appears to be something of great worth which could range from positions of supposedly great glory, honor, power, wealth and influence sometimes in the secular world and even in the Church. A Christian may be deeply involved in positions of power in the Church but may be called to something higher and more glorious by God. Sometimes, people resist such higher calls as they wonder what else could be more glorious than the present positions they occupy in a local Church. Beloved; that supposed position may water down the grace and unction of God in your life.

Moses sacrificed the palace of Egypt and became not only the national leader of Israel but a celebrated Christian leader globally and generationally.   Globally and at about every point in time, the name of Moses rings a bell, in point of fact, a great bell. In addition to this, the Bible describes Moses as a prophet who was faithful in God’s entire house.  Significantly, God spoke to Moses face to face in plain terms and not through dreams and visions. Also, Moses saw the form of the Lord. Please see Numbers Chapter 12 verses 6 to 8, Exodus Chapter 33 verse 11 and Deuteronomy Chapter 24 verse 10.

Severally God fought for Moses. God chastised Aaron and afflicted Miriam, the elder siblings of Moses because they spoke against Moses. Please see Numbers Chapter 12 verses 1 to 16. The three rebel leaders, Korah, Dathan and Abiram, significantly were fellow Levites but they were destroyed alongside their supporters because they rose up against Moses. While the earth opened up and swallowed the trio and their households, the Bible records that a fire came out from the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who teamed up with Korah, Dathan and Abiram in their rebellion against Moses.

The Role of Prophets in the Healing of the Nations 2

A prophet must prophesy; for any prophet to be used of God in bringing healing to the nation/s, the prophet must prophesy. The prophecy is what moves people, the nations to repentance if they are already prepared for repentance; or moves the people of God in the nations to fervent intercession for repentance in the land so that ultimately, there is forgiveness of sins and restoration.

Daniel interceded for Israel after studying the prophecy concerning restoration for Israel in the book of Jeremiah. Please see Daniel Chapter 9. Not quite long, the Israelites left Babylonian captivity and Jerusalem was rebuilt.

The Prophet Ezekiel was used by God to bring healing to the despondent people of Israel through the prophecy he gave in Ezekiel Chapter 37 verses 1 to 14. A people who had confessed that their bones were dry and their hope was lost stood on their feet as an exceedingly great army after they received the word of God prophesied by Ezekiel into their lives.

The prophecy can also be to energize and mobilize the people of God to action against their oppressors as in the case of Barak and the army of Israel when God used Deborah to prophesy to Barak. Barak responded positively to the prophecy by Deborah, mobilized the army of Israel and defeated General Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army. The nation of Israel was free and healed of the military oppression by Jabin, King of Cannan through Sisera. Please see Judges Chapters 4 and 5.

Healing also came to the nation of Israel as Prophets Zechariah and Haggai prophesied to the returnee exiles to complete the rebuilding of the temple that was abandoned on account of the fierce opposition from the people who hated Jerusalem. The people of Israel were experiencing lack, miserable harvests and nothing to really show for so much labor. But as they responded positively to the prophecies of Zechariah and Haggai; the recommenced work and completed the temple, God blessed them and the works of their hands immensely. Please see Ezra Chapter 5 verses 1 to 2, 6 verse 14; Haggai Chapters 1 and 2 and Zechariah Chapter 8 verses 9 to 15.

The Role of Prophets in the Healing of the Nations 1

A prophet is someone raised by God usually from among His people to speak His mind, His words which He gives to the prophet to His people. A prophet then is God’s spokesperson for the people of

God. No one takes this honor for himself as prophets and prophetesses are usually ordained into the ministry office of the prophet by God – Jeremiah Chapter 1 verse 5, 1^st Kings Chapter 19 verses 16, 19 to 21, Amos Chapter 7 verses 12 to 17, Haggai Chapter 1 verses 12 to 13, Zechariah Chapter 1 verse 17, Amos Chapter 3 verse 7, Deuteronomy Chapter 18 verses 10 to 22.  Prophets proclaim the mind of God through the written word in the Bible which the Holy Spirit sheds light on and then God who says that His word must accomplish whatever the Word is sent to accomplish acts on that word to produce the desired results. This is what prophecy and functioning in the ministry office of the prophet is.

A Prophet is a vessel used by God to provide solutions to personal, family, local, national and global challenges depending on where God assigns him or her to. Elijah solved the national challenge of idolatry and famine by giving the people direction to turn to God and be saved. Elisha solved ministry challenges for the prophets when he retrieved the lost ax in 2^nd Kings Chapter 6 verses 1 to 7.  Who is a prophet? Acts Chapter 15 verses 32. God works in partnership with His servants the prophets. Prophets are the servants of God that He reveals His secrets to before doing anything. Amos Chapter 3 verse 7, Genesis Chapter 18 verses 17 to 33, Acts Chapter 11 verses 27 to 30.

God is the one who raises prophets - people do not wake up to declare themselves prophets. They have to be ordained by God - Deuteronomy Chapter 18 verses 15 to 18, Jeremiah Chapter 1 verse 5. Prophets speak by the Spirit of God the words which God puts in their hearts and mouths. Deuteronomy Chapter 18 verse 18, Jeremiah Chapter 1 verse 9. Prophets are to say exactly what God wants them to say - Deuteronomy Chapter 18 verse 18, Jeremiah Chapter 1 verse 7.

Healing Streams 1

Polluted streams do not bring healing to the people around the stream, the struggling, or tired or weary or thirsty traveler in need of a refreshing cup of water or dip in the water. Polluted streams are sources of barrenness, unproductivity, sickness and death as in the case of the polluted waters of Jericho described in 2^nd Kings Chapter 2 verses 19 to 21. Rather than bless the people of the land, the polluted waters of Jericho poisoned and harmed the people of the land. It made the land unproductive or barren and consequently death in the land. Ideally, water should give life but when that water brings about what does not give life, then there is a problem.

On the journey from Egypt to the Promised Land, the Israelites got to Marah after searching for water to drink endlessly for three consecutive days in the wilderness. Unfortunately the waters of Marah were polluted, were bitter and undrinkable. At this point, the people could take it no more so they complained against Moses. Moses’s response is very significant. He cried out to God and God showed him a tree which he cast into the waters. The Bible records that the waters were made sweet thereafter and the people were able to drink from it.

Beloved, every polluted stream/water body requires divine touches and healings from the Lord to become healing streams that bring God’s healing, life, refreshment and transformation to the people of God. The waters of Jericho became healed by the Lord after Elisha cast in the salt at the source of the water.

The Role of Young People in Healing the Nations

God raised David at a time that Goliath had inflicted terrible damages in the national army of Israel. Through the use of words, the strife of tongues, words that intimidate to terrify and immobilize coupled with a terrifying stature, Goliath succeeded in bringing a very heavily mobilized army to inaction.  He used fear encoded in his choice of words to immobilize the army of God. For forty days and forty nights, the national army of Israel experienced unnecessary terror, humiliation at the hands of Goliath until David heard those words. The Spirit of God in David moved David to challenge the opposition and intimidation. Significantly, it was a battle of words as both Goliath and David used words. But David used words anointed by God (where the word of a King is, there is power). As David released the words by the Spirit of God, the power of God accompanied the words and in no time, Goliath in spite of his intimidating physical stature, military expertise, experience and prowess was brought down by David.

Esther was a very young woman when she was suddenly tasked with the responsibility of interceding for the safety of the Jews. Haman had passed a death sentence on the Jews and going by the irreversible laws of the Persians and the Medes, Esther’s task was a tall dream. But Esther went to God and God used her tremendously. Though the laws were not reversed, Haman was killed, the Jews were empowered with a new set of laws to fight back and fight back they did and killed all their enemies. Also, Mordecai, a gateman whom Haman thought was beneath him to kill alone and therefore decided to kill all the Jews became the number two man in the kingdom. Beloved, the Jewish nation was spared and healed of the satanic plot to eliminate the Jews through the Holy Spirit guided actions of Esther.

The Place of Genuine Repentance in the Healing of the Nations

One of the weapons of warfare is repentance.

All sin is meant to be acknowledged and repented of as stated in 1^st John Chapter 1 verses 8 to 10, 2^nd Chronicles Chapter 7 verses 13 to 14, Joel Chapter 2 verses 12 to 32, Jonah Chapter 3, 1^st Kings Chapter 18; and then God Who is compassionate and rich in mercy forgives. Unfortunately, not everyone acknowledges, confesses and repents of sin. There are people and nations who always excuse their sins and blame their utterances and actions on the utterances and actions of other people. Rather than admit their wrong doing to God and repent, they blame other people. God is never pleased with such people as what pleases God is a contrite and broken spirit.

True healing for the nations and individuals and people start when they genuinely turn away from their evil ways to God in repentance, thus re-establishing fellowship with God, and the presence of God in their lives.

A number of Biblical cases attest to this. Adam and Eve excused their disobedience to God, the first sin that got humans into trouble away. They both played the game – Adam blamed his wife and his wife blamed the serpent. Please see Genesis Chapter 3. Their son Cain did not blame anyone though; but he did not admit to wrong doing. Rather, he said that his punishment was too much for him. Please see Genesis Chapter 4 verses 1 to 16.

King Saul of Israel also played the blame game not once but twice. He blamed the people for his actions – first he offered burnt offerings to God – what he was not qualified to do (1^st Samuel Chapter 13 verses 1 to 14). Secondly, he spared Agag, the King of Amalek, the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lamb, and all that was good. In point of fact, the Bible records that Saul and his men were unwilling to utterly destroy them as commanded by God. Please see 1^st Samuel Chapter 15. And when confronted with his sin, he said the spared goods were to offer a sacrifice to God. Significantly, he eventually acknowledged his sin but only after Samuel told him that God had rejected him from being king. It is also instructive that he did not repent but wanted Samuel’s company around him just to gain honor despite being told that he had lost the throne. Saul was more interested in the honor and applause of men more than the grace and mercy of God. Eventually like every other unrepentant sinner, he lost the presence of God and fellowship with God (Genesis Chapters 3 verses 22 to 24, 4 verse 16, 1^st Samuel Chapter 16 verses 14 to 23, 18 verses 10 to 12) ; key requirements to healing the nations. In his quest to hear from God, he turned to divination and eventually died in battle. Please see 1^st Chronicles Chapter 10 verses 1 to 14.

David sinned severally against the Lord and each time the prophet of God accosted David with his sin, he acknowledged the sin and repented of the sin. Two examples will suffice. David numbered the men of Israel and incurred the wrath of God against the nation (1^st Chronicles Chapter 21). David immediately repented when accosted and begged God to allow the judgment fall on him and his family. Additionally he quickly offered the required sacrifices to God and judgment that had begun against the land was stayed. The other example was his sinful liaison with Bathsheba and the consequent murder of Uriah and acquisition of Bathsheba as wife (2^nd Samuel Chapters 11 and 12). When Nathan the prophet confronted David with his son, David acknowledged his sin and humbled himself in genuine repentance before God.

Manasseh sinned greatly against the Lord yet when he repented, God forgave him and stayed judgment (2^nd Chronicles Chapter 33, note verses 10 to 16).

King Rehoboam of Judah and his people repented of their sins against God and they were spared the destruction planned against them by the King of Egypt. Please see 2^nd Chronicles Chapter 12.

Whenever individuals, families, Churches, communities and organizations as well as nations genuinely repent of their sins before God and turn away from such sins, God forgives and brings healings in diverse areas.

Genuine repentance by the people and the leadership of the people helps to turn the wrath, judgment and condemnation of God from the people and the land as well as seal up every access and legal ground that the enemy had to afflict the people because of sin and God’s anger. Repentance and acknowledgment of sin is therefore a critical first step to healing the nations as it is one of the weapons of spiritual warfare. In every Holy Spirit backed intercession for peoples, nations, and the land, the intercessors commenced intercession by acknowledging their sin/s as a nation, repenting of such sins and asking for God’s mercy and forgiveness.

The Place of Intercession in the Healing of the Nations

Intercession is not a one off event. It is an ongoing activity that you continue doing until the will of God is established (Isaiah Chapter 62 verses 6 to 9).

The basis of intercession is the word of God therefore every intercessor must know and understand the word of God and desire that the word of God takes root in the hearts of people so that their lives are transformed to Christ-likeness. Intercessors respond to situations according to the Word of God – God heals all diseases so they pray for healing. Jesus is the savior so they pray for people to be receptive to and surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, pray for Christians to mature in Christ Jesus.

Intercession is a work of the Holy Spirit therefore no one can lay claim to being an intercessor. This is because intercession is the work of the Holy Spirit and because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ (Romans Chapter 8 verse 9), intercession is an ongoing work by both Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Please see Romans Chapter 8 verses 34, 26 to 27, Hebrews Chapter 7 verse 25, and Isaiah Chapter 59 verse 19. He is the one who lifts a standard and that explains why intercessors have to keep asking God for mercy because only Christ who died for the redemption of man can actually condemn (Romans Chapter 8 verse 34a and if Christ who paid the supreme price for the redemption of man through the shameful death on the cross is always interceding and not condemning, we have absolutely no right to judge and condemn.  Rather, we should request grace from God to intercede because God wants all people to come to repentance and life in Christ Jesus. Please see Matthew Chapter 18 verses 11 to 14, 2^nd Peter Chapter 3 verse 9, 1^st Timothy Chapter 2 verses 1 to 6, James Chapter 5 verses 19 to 20, Jude 22 to 23, 1^st John Chapter 5 verses 10 to 21.

Intercession should not be made for sin leading to death (2^nd Timothy Chapter 4 verses 14 to 15, 1^st Thessalonians Chapter 4 verse 8, Romans Chapter 8 verses 1 to 32, 2^nd Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 1 to 12, Hebrews Chapter 6 verses 1 to 8 and 2^nd Peter Chapter 2 verses 1 to 25.

The Place of Fasting and Prayer in the Healing of the Nations 1

Fasting and prayer are major components of healing the nations. Fasting and prayer should always be accompanied with genuine repentance.

The prophet Jonah was asked by God to deliver a judgmental prophecy of God’s intended destruction of Nineveh on account of their wickedness. Initially, Jonah disobeyed God but as Jonah obeyed God and proclaimed the message, the people of Nineveh were convicted of sin, turned to God in repentance through fasting and prayers for forgiveness of sins. The Bible   records that God pitied them and relented. It is significant to note that it was not the mere act of fasting that made God pardon them. It was the state of their hearts – they turned from their evil ways. Additionally, they humbled themselves through the fast. That explains why the Bible instructs believers not to rend their garments but their hearts and return to the Lord. This was exactly what the people of Nineveh did. Please see Joel Chapters 2 verses 12 to 13, 1 verse 14 as well as Jonah Chapter 3 verses 5 to 10.

It is also instructive to note that this was what Daniel did. Daniel accompanied his intercession for the restoration of Israel with prayer and fasting. Please see Daniel Chapter 9 verses 1 to 3. Nehemiah also fasted and prayed when he learnt about what had befallen Jerusalem – the distressing state of the survivors coupled with the broken down walls and burnt gates (Nehemiah Chapter 1 verses 1 to 4). The Old Testament prophet Samuel also led the people of Israel fasting and prayer as they returned to the Lord after practicing idolatry. Please see 1^st Samuel Chapter 7 verses 1 to 17. Quite instructive is the fact that as they fasted and prayed, the Philistines attacked them but God gave them overwhelming victory.

The Role of Prayer Cells in the Healing of the Nations

 Mary the mother of John Mark remains a woman of unrivaled beauty to me. Why, you may ask? She made available her home a place of prayer. Please see Acts Chapter 12. Many women whether believers or unbelievers make available their homes for unprofitable time wasting activities such as gossiping, sexual immorality as in the case of Potiphar’s wife,  centers of cannibalism as in the case of the foolish woman who agreed to kill her son for food and later regretted it because the person who urged her to do so refused to kill her own child; dens for trafficking and other forms of criminal activities.

But Mary used her home for divine purposes. She made it a place where the Church gathered together to intercede for the deliverance of Peter from the hands of untimely death through the evil intent of Herod who had found a new past time in killing the servants of God. God honored the prayers made in this home and Peter was released from the prison by an angel of God.

A prayer meeting can be held in any home that is made available for such a purpose and God will honor the prayers prayed in that home irrespective of the size, grandeur, opulence or insignificance and plainness. What is significant is the desire of the owners of the home to use their home as an altar of prayer to God; the hearts and the willingness of the people to pray. God is faithful and will always be present where two or three are gathered together in His name (Matthew Chapter 18 verse 20).

Beloved, the healing of the nations is not an event; that is to say that it is not a one off activity. It is a continuum – prayers, intercession, prophetic declarations, and activities such as prayer walks, praise and worship sessions, adoration and thanksgiving to God, celebrating the awesome sanctifying, healing and protective presence of God in the people and in the land.

Healing the Nations Campfire is an annual event, a one off prayer activity every year. But the bulk of the work, the real intercession for the healing of the nations is in the daily intercessory meetings for the healing of the nations; the lead up activities such as prayer and fasting, confession of sins, praise and worship, prophetic declarations to the one off annual event. The healing of the nations is therefore a daily activity – constant prayer as exemplified in Acts Chapter 12 where the Church gathered in the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark to pray for the release of Peter.

And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely… For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.  And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. Leviticus Chapter 26 verses 4 to 5, 9 to 10 KJV.

Safe cities are cities where God is honored and celebrated. These are cities where God is given the pride of place and has the number one position in the hearts of the people.

Safe cities are cities where abundance is the order of the day. The land is fruitful and people are productively engaged in spiritually, mentally, physically, financially rewarding processes that birth fruitfulness, multiplication and increase on a daily basis.

Clean cities, peoples and nations are people who respect the marriage covenant and honor God in their marriages through respect for one another and fidelity to each other. They also parent their children to be God fearing people who honor God in their daily interactions with other people. Respect for one another, politeness and affirmation of one another characterize the conduct of people and families in safe cities which also explain why the cities are safe.

Beloved, I plead with you to join your faith with the millions of people who are crying for the will of God on earth so that communities, cities and nations will be safe havens of abode for everyone.  There is absolutely nothing that God cannot do. He can make every city safe again to the glory of His name in Jesus mighty name. God bless you as you pray some of these prayer points. Thank you and God bless you.

God's Healing Streams

Polluted water brings about sicknesses and diseases, famine, destruction, barrenness of the land and death to the people of the land if nothing is done to cleanse the water and heal it. Water is very vital to life – the body requires water, the land requires water to grow crops but if the water is polluted, it does harm rather than good.

The waters of our national life beginning from individuals, family, institutions, communities, etc are polluted. Only genuine repentance through confession of sins and a complete turning away from such sins that have polluted the pure flow can bring about forgiveness, healing and restoration. It is not direct confrontation with the forces of darkness. It is humbling ourselves before God in genuine repentance and crying for mercy – Father, in judgment, please, remember mercy.

 The people of Nineveh cried for mercy – they asked God to forgive their sins, cleanse their hearts from filth, spiritual, mental, physical, and God had mercy on them. Please see Jonah Chapter 3, note verses 2 and 11. See also Amos Chapter 7 verses 1 to 6. Daniel pleaded for mercy and forgiveness of sins and cleansing for the nation of Israel. God responded in love, forgave, healed and restored His people. So also did Nehemiah and he got results. Drive out sin with the blood of Jesus Christ – 1^st John Chapter 1 verses 8 to 10.
