Women in Nation Building

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Women are relevant to God in diverse ways. This is because God also uses women as vessels of honor in nation building as well as healing the nations. However, for any woman to be relevant in God’s scheme of affairs, that woman has to be relevant to God in His own ways and timing. Significantly, you and I can become such women, vessels in the hands of God for nation building and healing the nations. How, you may ask? By possibly taking a cue from some of the women of relevance in the Bible; the women who were strategically positioned to fulfill purpose so that you and I are relevant in nation building and healing the nations as the world celebrates Mother’s Day on Sunday, 11th March 2018..

By being Prayerful

Prophetess Anna was both prayerful and kingdom minded. After being widowed at an early age, Prophetess Anna spent her entire life working with God for the manifestation of God’s plans and purposes for humanity. She did this faithfully for about seventy years. After setting her eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ, she willingly departed the earth for greater glories. Please see Luke Chapter 2 verses 36 to 37. Other women who were prayerful and in the process birthed divine destinies include Hannah the mother of Prophet Samuel, the mother of John Mark whose house was a house of prayer where constant prayer was made for Peter and he escaped the death trap of King Herod who killed believers for the fun of it. These women prayed down God’s plans and purposes. They were not asking God for the latest designs from the luxury designers of the world; neither were they asking for luxury homes. They were concerned with the will of God and were praying down the will of God, warring in the heavenlies against forces opposed to the will of God for humanity and His saints.

The Essence of Judgmental Prophecies

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Judgmental prophecies are prophecies that pronounce judgment and doom as a result of the disobedience of an individual, family, community, Church, institutions and nations. They are however not a regular occurrence. God does not delight in pronouncing judgment on His people. Rather He blesses His people on a daily basis.  The essence of judgmental prophecies is to cause the people of God to repent and to turn away from their sins back to God. God does this because of His love and compassion for the people. Please see 2nd Chronicles Chapter 36 verse 15, Jonah Chapter 4 verses 2 to 3, 11.

Most often, God averts judgment especially when people repent as the Word of God comes forth. Ahab repented when he received a judgmental prophecy after killing Naboth to take over his vineyard (1st Kings Chapter 21). Though Ahab eventually died on account of other sins, it is significant to note that as much as possible, God always wants to avert judgment which explains why He uses His prophets to warn His people and nations of the impending consequences of their sinful actions. It is sad that most often, people and nations do not pay attention to God but choose to walk in their own ways. The case of the city of Nineveh is significant. As the Prophet Jonah spoke of the impending doom that would befall Nineveh on account of their sins, the Bible records that the nation led by the King repented in dust and ashes. God rescinded judgment and the people were spared.

The people of Israel and Judah as well as the land suffered the consequences of their sins and persistent refusal to turn away from their sinful ways back to God. Consequently, Nebuchadnezzar humiliated them and burnt the beautiful temple built by Solomon, carted away the precious articles of gold and silver. God allowed this because He had warned them severally. Additionally, the leadership of the people including priests and prophets were defiling the temple with the abominable idolatrous practices of the nations around them (2nd Chronicles Chapter 36 verse 14, Ezekiel Chapter 8) and had hardened their hearts against any rebuke from the LORD. Rather than be convicted and repent, they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words and scoffed at His prophets (2nd Chronicles Chapter 36 verse 16).

His Grace

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Amazing, Abounding, yet free
Yours for the taking
If only you will stretch out your hands
And put them in His
As He leads and guides you
In the ancient paths of
Justice, love, holiness
Paid for by Jesus Christ.

GRACE
Grace?
Not for me.
I have all it takes
Money, beauty, great intellect
What else can anyone ask for?
Morals?
I do not drink, smoke, or fornicate
I do not tell lies, cheat or defraud
Really?
Yes
Great but you need grace
The grace of God
For salvation by faith and freedom from SIN
Surrender it all TODAY and enjoy GRACE
The great work of God.

Healing Streams 1

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Polluted streams do not bring healing to the people around the stream, the struggling, or tired or weary or thirsty traveler in need of a refreshing cup of water or dip in the water. Polluted streams are sources of barrenness, unproductivity, sickness and death as in the case of the polluted waters of Jericho described in 2nd Kings Chapter 2 verses 19 to 21. Rather than bless the people of the land, the polluted waters of Jericho poisoned and harmed the people of the land. It made the land unproductive or barren and consequently death in the land. Ideally, water should give life but when that water brings about what does not give life, then there is a problem.

On the journey from Egypt to the Promised Land, the Israelites got to Marah after searching for water to drink endlessly for three consecutive days in the wilderness. Unfortunately the waters of Marah were polluted, were bitter and undrinkable. At this point, the people could take it no more so they complained against Moses. Moses’s response is very significant. He cried out to God and God showed him a tree which he cast into the waters. The Bible records that the waters were made sweet thereafter and the people were able to drink from it.

Beloved, every polluted stream/water body requires divine touches and healings from the Lord to become healing streams that bring God’s healing, life, refreshment and transformation to the people of God. The waters of Jericho became healed by the Lord after Elisha cast in the salt at the source of the water.

The Place of Liberality in the Healing of the Nations

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

The liberality referred to here is liberality for kingdom purposes. Giving generally opens a floodgate of blessings (Luke Chapter 6 verse 38, Isaiah Chapter 32 verse 8) and also brings healings in diverse dimensions to the peoples and nations of the world (Job Chapter 42 verses 6 to 12, Genesis Chapter 20). When people and nations give of their time, money, expertise, knowledge, skills, etc to bring people out of poverty, ignorance, and diseases into a better quality life, they are giving healing (as some of their Christian brethren take advantage of such opportunities to serve as missionaries) and they in turn; both the sending nations and missionaries receive healings from God as well.

God gave the greatest gift of all for the redemption, salvation and deliverance of humanity from satanic captivity and death to abundant life in Christ Jesus. Please see  John Chapter 3 verse 16, John Chapters 10 verse 10; 15 verse 13 , Romans Chapter 8 verses 31 to 32, 2nd Corinthians Chapter 8 verse 9.

In the book of Haggai Chapters 1 and 2, the Bible records that the people of Judah gave  of their resources to complete the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem that was abandoned on account of the fierce opposition to the rebuilding of the Temple. As the people released their resources for the rebuilding of the temple, they were healed of the famine in the land despite the fact that they had not planted fresh crops.
